1. Classification of Electric Drills
Electric drills can be divided into three categories: electric hand drill, impact drill and hammer drill. It needs to be selected according to your actual needs and their respective scope of use.
1) Hammer Drill
It can produce strong impact force, accompanied by the effect of drilling. Its power can split stone and gold and it can drill holes in a variety of hard materials, with the widest range of application.
2) Electric Hand Drill
Some electric hand drills can be changed into special tools according to their uses, with many uses and models. Its power is the lowest, and the application range is limited to wood drilling and electric screwdriver.
3) Impact Drill
It can be used for natural stone or concrete, but the impact force is far less than that of electric hammer. It can be used as an ordinary electric drill. The impact mechanism of impact electric drill has two types: dog tooth type and ball type. The impact effect is realized by the mutual runout of the gears on the inner shaft.
2. Correct Use of Hand Held Electric Drill
1) Wear protective glasses when drilling on pig iron castings to protect eyes. When working face up, wear a protective mask. The bit holder shall be properly installed.
2) The drill bit is in a hot state during operation, and pay attention to burning the skin. When drilling holes with over 12mm diameter, a pistol drill with a side handle shall be used.
3) Measures for falling from height shall be taken when working on a ladder or working at heights, and the ladder shall be supported by ground personnel.
